After 4 weeks doing a project on a part time basis, I had finally completed the project. The site looked very sleek and the SEO was done well. I had done the site in Drupal CMS and had shown the company personel how to login and make the kind of changes they had wanted. Unfortunately, they stripped the keywords. Now, there were keywords without the text in the article and much of the text that made relevant searching was gone. I thought, well, if that was what they wanted....so be. However, now I began to receive a stream of call about how Google no longer picked up the right phrases.
I told the man, "Look, your changes made the keyword searching to fail, not me. I had it right, remember?"
He replied, "I need it be rank properly like before."
I held my cool and replied, "I will change this once more, but, remember what I told you about changing the way it is written. You write it your way, or for Google. Google has their methods for relevant indexing and if you want your keywords to pickup we must write the content correctly. I will do this, wait until Google reindexes the page, then, I will get back to you."
Shortly thereafter, the keywords were working like before. Then, my client had said, "I do not like all the text to say that. I want it changed."
"Look," I answered, "I told what I had to do and I did it. You must live with that now." I was beginning to be angry because his compiled amount of changes was going through the roof. His former webmaster bailed on the job, so my best read on this fellow was that he would be impossible to please. The 1 in 7 guy. To play my hand and deal with my frustration, I said "I am done, either you take it as is or you can start again."
After arguing for a couple of minutes, he told me to call him when I was ready to talk. I had lost that readiness and sent him an email about finalizing the project.
He finally came around and understood why things had to be written as they were. Too many times, clients look at their site so often during the construction phase that they get tired of it and want so many changes that really have no impact on order, function or usability.
After he came around to realize I did the right thing for SEO, we met and had a good time. After a short presentation of the work he had received I knew he was satisfied and he began to see my side of things a little better.

I agree. Quite a gap about what one wants, what is possible and how hard it is to do something that looks so easy.
