- PHP HTML and Whitespace
Whitespace can cause problems with html output.
To keep it simple, you should always avoid any whitespace or comments above the initial output.
For example, the comment <!-- Header --> below would throw off the web page. The doctype should be first without any whitespace above it.
<?php }else{ ?>
<!-- Header -->
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
